CoverGrrlz

CoverGrrlz came to be from the members of Lick. After Lick dissolved, I realized I enjoyed playing with the gals, and contacted them thinking, why not just keep playing together in a different ensemble?
We started out playing the Rolling Stones repertoire we'd learned in Lick, but soon added all kinds of interesting songs that spanned the breadth of rock music.
The other gals agreed, and we became CoverGrrlz. This band did very well, especially after doing the KFOX Battle of the Bands, and being seen by booking agent Read Zaro. He liked us, and we went on to play a lot of the Art and Wine Fair circuit on the peninsula/South Bay, and got to play the Stockton Asparagus Festival, Brentwood Corn Festival (we were trying to collect all the vegetables!), and also opened up for Greg Kihn Band and Blue Öyster Cult (twice!).
This band ended slowly through attrition. Sometimes bands lose a member and it's just never the same. This was one of those bands. It kind of slowly petered out, until it became apparent that it just wasn't hitting it anymore. However, the people in the band would keep showing up in future bands! (Hyperdrive Kittens, GrrlzTalk)
