First Men On The Sun

Once I'd settled in Los Angeles, I was offered to play in the band my BF played in, First Men on the Sun. This band was kind of indie-rock with a bit of southern influence, in the midst of the '80s Great Hair Band Era.
First Men on the Sun generally played original music by bandleader Pat Byars, with some unique instrumentation—We had two guitars, bass and drums, but our keyboard player, Lyn also played Violin, and I played Chapman Stick on some tunes.
We played a lot of gigs in Los Angeles, including the Coconut Teaszer, Club Lingerie, Madame Wongs. I remember one gig where we played a cover of Alice Cooper's "Halo of Flies," which was really fun to play.
We recorded a demo of about 6 songs, hoping to land it on the right desk, but that never happened.
I seem to recall there was some tension between Pat and I, but I don't quite remember why I was dismissed from the band, but I was.
